The Low Down

One of the latest beauty influencer collaborations comes to us from the amazing Desi Perkins and Lustrelux (Katy) and Dose of Colors. If you aren’t already subscribed to each of their channels, as well as the Perkins vlog channel, then what are you doing with your life!! Desi and Katy and their respective husbands Jon (‘Jonye’) and Steven (‘Sven’) are super down to earth and modest and are absolutely hilarious (seriously – follow them on Snapchat). I was super excited to hear about this collaboration and even better it was with Dose, who they both always rave about and feature on their channels. Unlike many other collaborations this one is a whole collection which I love!

The Collection

The full collection consists of two lipsticks, two liquid lipsticks, two highlighters, one lip gloss and an eyeshadow palette. The eyeshadow palette, lip gloss and one of the highlighters are currently sold out and the range was limited edition so it is hard to say whether they will be restocked.

I picked up both lipsticks, the eyeshadow palette, Hot Fire liquid lipstick (the other shade Savage is very deep and not my style) and Mirame highlighter.

The Verdict/Review

Overall, I love this collection. It is easy to see that Desi and Katy put their hearts and souls into creating these products. The rose gold packaging is gorgeous and the lip product tubes include the girls' signatures as well. The shades in the collection have cleverly been named after some of their most used phrases like "No Shade", "More Creamer Please" and "The Girls" and the shades in the eyeshadow palette are named after their puppies.

  • Lipsticks - the formula of these lipsticks is super creamy and pigmented, they remind me of a thicker version of MAC's creamsheen formulation but slightly more matte. No Shade is a light and slightly peachy nude and would best suit fairer skin tones while More Creamer Please is a deeper more tan nude (like a cappuccinno) would suit darker/tanned skin tones.

  • Liquid Lipstick Hot Fire - Dose has one of the best liquid lipstick formulations (in my opinion), the are pigmented, long lasting and aren't overly drying. This shade is a perfect "hot fire" red without being too deep or too orange.

  • Highlighter - Mirame - buttery, finely milled and a blinding rose gold highlight!! This one suits me best when I have a tan so is definitely for darker skin tones. Apply with a dense tapered highlighter brush for the best result.

  • Eyeshadow Palette - This palette includes four statement metallic shades which are all gorgeous in their own right - there is a dark glittery shade for a smokey eye, a metallic bronze, a metallic champagne and a sparkly green with gold reflects. The girls suggested that they did this because most people have their own favourite crease and transition shades. Most of the shades are best applied with the fingertip or a wet brush - the palette comes with an instruction sheet outlining the best way to apply each shade.

Did you pick up anything from this collection and if so what did you think?

XOXO
